Lady Cecilia Roberts was a daughter of the 9th Earl of Carlisle and Countess Rosalind. (the 9th Earl was an accomplished amateur artist and a great friend of some of the leading pre-Raphaelites). Cecilia's daughter, Winifred Roberts, was also an accomplished artist. She is best known as Winifred Nicholson, following her marriage to Ben Nicholson. Winifred had been a great friend of Evie Hone for many years.
